Dr. Alyssa Short

Dr. Short grew up in Iredell County before attending the University of North Carolina Wilmington where she obtained a bachelors degree in Biology. She then went off to vet school in the Caribbean island of St Kitts before finishing her degree at the University of Tennessee. She has a passion for helping animals of every species, and especially loves exotic and large animal medicine. When not practicing veterinarian medicine, Dr. Short enjoys reading books of every genre, traveling with her husband, trail running, and hiking national parks. Dr. Short and her husband share their home with their three cats (Chester, Pippa, and Fiske), Eli a senior golden retriever, and a feisty crested gecko named Ivy.
